Remains of ten people found in junkyard in eastern Turkey

Istanbul - The remains of some ten people, including skulls with apparent gunshot holes, have been found in a waste disposal site near the city of Van in eastern Turkey, local media reports said on Friday.
The discovery was made by a group of children who were sifting through the site for scrap metal.
Local media said that police were investigating the case, and had ordered laboratory tests to be carried out.
No information as to the identity or fate of the individuals was yet available.
The city of Van is majority Kurdish, and has been the scene of tension between the Kurdish and Turkish authorities.
