Hamburg - SV Hamburg have sealed the signing of Dutch striker Eljero Elia from FC Twente on a five-year contract, the Bundesliga club said Sunday.
Pending a successful medical test, Elia, 22, will join up with the Hamburg squad on Monday when it begins a pre-season training camp at Laengenfeld, Austria.
Hamburg have paid around 8.5 million euros (12 million dollars) for a player who had also been wanted by Olympique Lyon.
He is the third recent signing by the club following Brazil midfielder Ze Roberto on a free transfer from Bayern Munich and midfielder Robert Tesche from Arminia Bielefeld.
