Demichelis to miss start of season with ankle injury

Munich - Bayern Munich will be without central defender Martin Demichelis for the opening matches of the new Bundesliga season after the Argentine international tore ligaments in his right ankle Thursday during training.
Demichelis will be out for up to seven weeks as the injury requires an operation. Bayern face Hoffenheim in their opening match Saturday with Miroslav Klose and Jose Sosa both doubtful for new coach Louis van Gaal.
