Aug 15, 2009, 12:19 GMT
Istanbul - One person was killed and another injured by the detonation of an explosive in a rubbish container in Istanbul, Turkish media reported Saturday.
The fatality was a guard of a nearby building, while a passer-by was lightly injured.
Media reports cited Istanbul Police Chief Huseyin Capkin as saying that the explosion was caused by a bomb but no further information was available.
The Turkish state has fought a long-running battle against Kurdish separatists, especially those of the armed militant PKK group.
