EU police come under fire in Kosovo
Sep 25, 2009, 9:21 GMT
Pristina - Kosovo police said Friday the were investigating a shooting incident which targeted a convoy with a European Union special police patrol.
Nobody was injured in the attack on Thursday evening, but at least one bullet struck one of the vehicles driving near Zubin Potok, 60 kilometres north of Pristina.
The EU deployed a law-enforcing mission, EULEX, which includes police, customs and justice officials, to Kosovo after it declared unilateral independence from Serbia.
EULEX was not welcomed by some from the Albanian majority who see it as an obstacle to full sovereignty of the new country, nor by the minority Serbs, who dominate the northern one-quarter of Kosovo.
