Oct 5, 2009, 13:56 GMT
Moscow - Ingushetia President Yunus-bek Yevkurov has dismissed his government, following a series of major terrorist attacks in the Russian republic, reports said Monday.
Yevkurov said his decision was based on the unsatisfactory performance of the cabinet under Prime Minister Rashid Gaysanov, Interfax news agency said.
Alexei Vorobyov, the chief of Ingushetia's Security Council, has been named acting head of government.
Other republics in the North Caucasus have also been rocked by bloody attacks by suspected Islamist rebels that have claimed the lives of high-ranking officials.
