Oct 29, 2009, 17:48 GMT
Berlin - German Chancellor Angela Merkel deplored Thursday a car bombing in which more than 100 people were killed in Peshawar, Pakistan.
Her office released the text of a letter to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani in which she said, 'I utterly condemn this cowardly attack on democracy and the integrity of Pakistan.' She promised German support in the fight against terrorism.
The official death toll from the Wednesday car bombing at a market frequented by women has reached 106.
