Nov 6, 2009, 10:44 GMT
Stuttgart - Germany and VfB Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci is likely out for the rest of the year with a foot injury, the Bundesliga club Stuttgart said on Friday.
Coach Markus Babbel said that Tasci was close to a stress fracture and will be sidelined for several weeks.
Tasci was nominated earlier Friday into a Germany squad for upcoming friendlies against Chile and Ivory Coast, but will now miss these games.
It was the latest blow for the struggling club who have Sami Khedira out with a similar problem. In addition, Ricardo Osorio is injured and Timo Gebhart suspended for Stuttgart's weekend match at Borussia Moenchengladbach.
