Earthquake rattles Greek island of Evia
Nov 12, 2009, 9:28 GMT
Athens - An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale shook the Greek Aegean island of Evia on Thursday, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The underwater quake was recorded at 9:26 am (0726 GMT). It had an epicentre 70 kilometres north-east of the Greek capital Athens, near the island's capital of Halkida, the Geodynamic Institute said.
Greece has experienced seismic activity over the past month after two strong jolts, a 5.7 and 5.4-magnitude quake, shook the Ionian islands.
