Greek police arrest three people for leftist guerrilla attacks

Athens - Greek police arrested three people on Saturday for their involvement in a series of bomb attacks by a leftist guerrilla group across the country.
The two men and one woman, all in their 20s, were arrested during police raids in Athens. They are suspected of belonging to the small leftist guerilla group Fire Conspiracy Cells.
Anti-terrorist police are searching for another six people believed to be involved in the organisation.
The group claimed responsibility for a bombing in a government building in the northern Greek port of Thessaloniki and bomb attacks at the home of a former police minister as well as a Greek member of the European Parliament last month.
The country has been plagued by frequent bombings and arson attacks targeting banks and multinational businesses since the police shooting of a teenager last December. The shooting sparked the worst riots the country had seen in decades.
Greece's new Socialist government has vowed to crack down on the criminal activities of self-styled anarchists and far-left militant groups.
