Norwegians dominate opening cross-country World Cup races (Roundup)

Beitostolen, Norway - Norwegians were victorious in the opening two cross-country WOrld Cup races of the season Saturday with Ronny Andre Hafsaas winning the men's 15-kilometre freestyle event while Marit Bjorgen claimed victory in the women's 10km race.
Hafsaas,24, produced a sensational performance for the home crowd in Beitstolen, winning in only his second-ever World Cup race in a time of 34 minutes 42.1 seconds.
France's Vincent Vittoz came home in second place, just 0.2 seconds behind the winner, followed by Finland's Matti Heikkinen.
Bjorgen was the clear winner in the women's 10km race with a time of 24:48.3 minutes, finishing 29.2 seconds ahead of Sweden's Charlotte Kalla. Anna Haag, also of Sweden, came home third, 37.2 seconds adrift of the winner.
