ETA supporters burn bus and subway station in Basque region
Nov 27, 2009, 12:04 GMT
Bilbao, Spain - Radical separatists burned a bus and set fire to an underground station in Spain's Basque region overnight, officials said Friday.
The supporters of the militant ETA group ordered the bus driver and passengers off the vehicle before torching it in Bilbao. The fire also damaged several houses and parked cars.
In Getxo, north of Bilbao, radicals forced their way into an underground station, setting ticket machines and an office on fire.
None of the incidents caused injuries.
The attacks may have been a response to the arrests of 34 suspected members of the pro-ETA youth group Segi earlier this week, reports said.
