Dec 6, 2009, 19:22 GMT
Rome - The city derby between Roma and Lazio was suspended for about five minutes Sunday as hooligans set off high-powered firecrackers that they managed to bring inside the Stadio Olimpico.
Referee Nicola Rizzoli interrupted the game on 14 minutes and resumed it when the explosions ended.
Before the game, hooligans reportedly exploded crackers and hurled stones, bolts and bottles at a group of police officers who responded by firing tear gas.
