French interior minister discusses cooperation with Jordan

Amman (dpa - French Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux on Tuesday discussed the prospects of enhancing cooperation between Jordan and France during separate meetings with Jordanian Prime Minister Samir Rifai and Interior Minister Nayef Qadi.
According to an official statement, the talks covered cooperation in the security, economic and nuclear fields as well as latest developments relating to the Arab-Israeli conflict.
'Rifai voiced Jordan's keenness on boosting cooperation with France at both the bilateral and European Union levels,' it said.
In particular, he praised France's support for Jordan's nuclear programme and welcomed new French investments in the country.
The French minister is currently on a private visit to Jordan, the statement said.
