Jan 12, 2010, 16:04 GMT
Stockholm - A man was arrested Tuesday in Sweden on suspicion of war crimes, murder and abduction during the 1992-95 Bosnian war, the Swedish Prosecution Authority said.
The alleged crimes were committed during May-August 1992 when the man served as a guard in a prison camp in Bosnia where Bosnian Serb civilians were held, the statement said.
The 43-year-old suspect is now a Swedish citizen.
A district court in Stockholm is to decide if he is to be remanded in custody. A custody hearing was due Thursday at the latest, the prosecutors said.
Prosecutor Magnus Elving said more than 70 people have been heard in the investigation conducted by the war crimes commission, a police unit set up 2008.
Investigators have also been in touch with other countries and the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
