Policeman hurt as fans hurl firecrackers during Juventus-Genoa
Feb 14, 2010, 17:00 GMT
Rome - A policeman was taken to a hospital Sunday after being hit by a firecracker hurled by fans during the Serie A game between Juventus and Genoa at Turin's Stadio Olimpico.
Repubblica.it reported that the officer was hit in the chest but did not suffer serious injuries.
Juventus are likely to be fined for the behaviour of their fans, while international goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon could be sanctioned for appearing to curse after a fumbled save that allowed Genoa a temporary 2-2 equalizer in the game they eventually lost 3-2.
Under new rules passed last week, curses against religion can be punished with an immediate dismissal or using television footage after the game's end.
