Polish man survives 5-centimeter nail through heart

Warsaw - Doctors in southern Poland removed a 5-centimeter nail from the heart of a 30 year-old man injured in an accident with a nail gun, local media reported Wednesday.
The man's heart was pierced while he was nailing boards with a co-worker in a carpentry shop in Swietochlowice, reported the Polish Press Agency PAP. Officials said it was not yet clear who had been using the nail gun.
Doctors said the man was conscious and in stable condition after the operation that removed the nail.
