Serbian human rights activist, lawyer Kovacevic-Vuco dies

Belgrade - Serbian human rights activist and lawyer Biljana Kovacevic-Vuco died on Tuesday in Belgrade, local media reported.
Kovacevic-Vuco was a member of and legal advisor to several non- governmental organizations, but was best known as the founder of the Committee of Lawyers for Human Rights (YUCOM).
She was one of the most outspoken critics of Slobodan Milosevic's regime in Serbia during the troubled 1990s, which were marred by wars and human rights violations.
Kovacevic-Vuco, 58, succumbed to complications following a kidney transplant. She is survived by two sons.
