Berlin - German Chancellor Angela Merkel has congratulated Eurovision song contest winner Lena Meyer-Landrut for her 'great success in Oslo.'
'Lena really impressed me with her unpretentiousness and warmth. She's a wonderful example of young Germany,' Merkel told the Bild newspaper.
The 19-year-old won the contest late Saturday with her song 'Satellite,' and is expected back in her home city of Hanover later Sunday for a huge public reception in front of the city hall.
