Cheeseburger lunch for Medvedev, Obama (Extra)
Jun 24, 2010, 19:14 GMT
Washington - Cheeseburgers were on the menu for Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's lunch Thursday, when he got a first-hand taste of a high-calorie American meal at a US fast food joint.
US President Barack Obama took the Russian leader to lunch at Ray's Hell-Burger in Virginia, across the Potomac from the White House.
Both men ordered burgers with onions, lettuce, tomato and ice tea. That wasn't spicy enough for Medvedev, who added jalapenos and mushrooms to his cheeseburger.
The two men shared an order of french fries - perhaps as a gesture to First Lady Michelle Obama, who has planted a White House garden and is on an anti-obesity campaign.
