One body too many in German fatal road accident
Jul 4, 2010, 12:11 GMT
Magdeburg, Germany - German police called to a road accident with two fatalities early Sunday said they discovered a mysterious third corpse in the boot of one of the wrecked cars.
The woman in the trunk had died well before the fatal collision on a highway near Dolle in the eastern state of Saxony-Anhalt state, a police spokesman in Magdeburg said.
The crash itself, on a straight road at 5 am, was inexplicable. A man driving the car which had the body in the boot was killed instantly when he veered onto the wrong side of the road and hit an oncoming car.
The woman driving the other car was burned to death when her car exploded in flames. Police are studying whether the male driver deliberately caused the head-on collision or lost control of his car.
