EXIT music festival closes after performances by over 600 artists

Belgrade - Serbia's largest music festival, EXIT, ended Sunday night with performances by Faith No More and The Chemical Brothers.
More than 600 artists, including Placebo, Mika, Missy Elliot and Royksopp, were featured during four nights across 20 stages and were seen and heard by more than 150,000 people.
Situated in a 17th century Petrovaradin fortress overlooking the Danube river, EXIT grew from A protest against the rule of late strongman Slobodan Milosevic to Serbia's and the Balkans' biggest music festival and the highlight of the season, drawing thousands of fans every year.
During this year's festival, Serbian police arrested 20 foreign fans for drug possession. Two foreigners were robbed and one man was injured when he fell from the fortress wall.
Organizers said that more than 35,000 people per night visited the festival.
Since the first concerts in 2000, big names such as Robert Plant, Morrissey, Massive Attack, The Prodigy, Scissor Sisters, Garbage, The Cult, The Beastie Boys, Apocalyptica, Moloko, Billy Idol, Nightwish, and Primal Scream have been showcased at the festival.
During the four day festival, 40 non-governmental organizations from southeastern Europe used the festival to show festival goers what they do. Visitors were also able to follow the World Cup final games during the festival.
