Jul 30, 2010, 13:59 GMT
Stuttgart - Sami Khedira will move from VfB Stuttgart to Real Madrid and sign a contract subject to passing a medical after both clubs reached agreement on a transfer, the Bundesliga club confirmed Friday.
Stuttgart refused to give details about the size of the fee paid by Real for the 23-year-old Germany midfielder but it is believed to be in the region of 14 million euros (18.3 million dollars).
According to media reports, Khedira has agreed a deal that will keep him at the Spanish giants until 2015.
Khedira's contract with Stuttgart runs until the end of the 2011 season meaning the southern Germans wouldn't receive a cent if the player left at the end of next season.
'It's not easy to lose such a leading player as Sami Khedira,' said new Stuttgart sporting director Fredi Bobic, who only took up his post last Tuesday.
'However, on the other side, we understand Sami's wish to further his career by playing for Real.'
Khedira made his Bundesliga debut for Stuttgart in October 2006 as a 19-year-old.
