Aug 7, 2010, 7:47 GMT
Berlin - The German Foreign Ministry said early Saturday that Germany had contacted Afghanistan officials over the reports of the death of six Germans in north-eastern Afghanistan.
A Foreign Ministry spokesman in Berlin said that the German embassy in Kabul was now in contact with Afghan authorities. He said further details could not yet be disclosed.
The spokesman was commenting after police in Aghanistan reported the bullet-riddled bodies of eight foreigners - the six Germans and two Americans - had been found in a remote area of Karan-nu-Munjan, a district which borders Pakistan. The eight had been camping.
