Ferrer poised to become coach of Vitesse Arnhem
Oct 27, 2010, 12:50 GMT
Madrid - Former Spain right-back Albert Ferrer is all set to become the new coach of Dutch team Vitesse Arnhem, according to Dutch and Spanish media reports on Wednesday.
Vitesse, who are third from bottom of the Dutch Eredivisie, have not confirmed the appointment. They sacked coach Theo Bos on October 21 and installed Hans Van Arum as caretaker.
Ferrer, 40, has no top-line coaching experience. He was an attacking right-back in Johan Cruyff's Barcelona 'Dream Team' of the 1990s, then played for Chelsea from 1998 to 2003. He has recently been working as a football analyst in the Spanish media.
Ferrer played 39 matches for Spain between 1991 and 1999, and was the nation's first-choice right-back at the 1994 and 1998 World Cups.
