Cargo spaceship blasts off for International Space Station

Moscow - A cargo spaceship carrying research equipment, fresh fruit and post blasted off Wednesday for the International Space Station (ISS), officials in Moscow told the news agency Interfax.
The Progress spaceship took off as planned at 1312 GMT with 2.6 tons of supplies from the Baikonour space centre in Kazakhstan.
The cargo ship is due to dock with the ISS on Saturday. Three Russian cosmonauts and three US astronaut are currently on board the space station, 350 kilometres above the earth's surface.
