Narrow escape for Czech child as ice crashes through roof
Nov 19, 2010, 16:39 GMT
Prague - A chunk of ice, possibly from a passing plane, crashed through the roof of a home in the eastern Czech Republic, landing within inches of a child's bed, an official said Friday.
No-one was injured by the falling block, which broke up on impact and is believed to have fallen from a plane, according to Petr Dvorak, a spokesman for the Czech meteorological institute.
'It could not come from a plane toilet. That is hermetically sealed,' Dvorak told the German Press Agency dpa.
An expert was examining the evidence, a piece of which the homeowners had stored in a freezer.
