Greek riot police, student protestors clash in Athens

Athens - Greek riot police and hundreds of student protestors clashed in the capital Athens Thursday during at a demonstration against the government's austerity measures.
Police us tear gas to disperse hundreds of students, some hurling rocks at them, near the parliament building.
Police arrested at least five people.
The government is implementing a wave of economic reforms as part of a bid to slash public spending in exchange for a multi-billion dollar rescue package from the European Union, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund.
Trade unions are strongly opposed to program, which includes the scrapping of overtime pay and bonuses, and have for months been organizing strikes and demonstrations.
A nationwide strike has been called for on December 15.
Students are planning another rally on Monday on the two-year anniversary of the fatal police shooting of a teenager that sparked the worst riots the country has seen in decades.
