Assange says real fear is possible extradition to US (Extra)

London - WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange expressed concern Thursday over a possible extradition to the US following 'rumours' that an indictment was being prepared against him there.
Speaking to reporters in London after his release from custody, Assange said: 'I do not have too many fears about my extradition to Sweden. The much bigger fear is about extradition to the US.'
He had heard 'rumours' via his lawyers there that an 'indictment is being made against me in the US,' said Assange, before he was driven away to a friend's estate in Suffolk, south-east England.
Assange defended the WikiLeaks publications of confidential US state department cables, which he claimed showed that diplomats had been 'tasked to engage in espionage' without informing the government of their host countries.
