Bomb blast targets controversial Bulgaria weekly
Feb 10, 2011, 12:21 GMT
Sofia - A bomb exploded early Thursday in front of the building housing a controversial Bulgarian magazine, local media said.
The blast, apparently caused by a homemade device, went of at 5:30 a.m. (0330 GMT), shattering the windows of several nearby buildings. There were no immediate reports of injuries, the Sofia News Agency said.
The building houses the Galeria weekly, which recently leaked tapes of what it said were discussions between Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and other officials about corrupt practices.
Borisov claimed the tapes were doctored and accused Galeria of trying to create a scandal for political purposes.
