New Irish parliament elects Enda Kenny as prime minister

Dublin - Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny was elected prime minister by Ireland's new parliament, which was meeting for the first time Wednesday.
Kenny was elected by a huge majority of 117 votes to 17.
Kenny is to lead a coalition government comprised of his centre-right Fine Gael and the centre-left Labour after leading his party to an historic election victory on February 25.
