Mar 18, 2011, 15:27 GMT
Prague - Writer and former Czech president Vaclav Havel is showing 'signs of improvement,' but remains hospitalized with acute respiratory infection, a hospital spokeswoman said Friday.
Havel, 74, was admitted to the Prague Central Military Hospital 10 days ago.
A dissident and playwright under the country's Communist regime, he later became Czech president.
A lifelong smoker, he was diagnosed with cancer in 1996 and had part of his right lung removed.
It was not clear if he would be well enough to attend the March 22 premier of his new film 'Leaving.'
