Austrian convicted of raping daughters, fathering children
Apr 7, 2011, 11:11 GMT
Vienna - An Austrian man was found guilty Thursday of raping his two daughters and fathering two children in the process, media reported.
A court in Feldkirch in western Austria sentenced the 64-year-old to 15 years in prison and ordered him to pay his victims compensation of 118,000 euros (168,000 dollars), according to public broadcaster ORF.
The offences took place over a period of 10 years. Of the two children that one of the daughters bore him, one has died and the other is severely disabled.
The verdict came little over two years after fellow Austrian Josef Fritzl received a life sentence for imprisoning his daughter for 24 years in his cellar and for fathering her seven children.
According to privacy laws, no names were released in the Feldkirch trial, which was held behind closed doors.
