Barcelona defender Adriano out for four weeks
Apr 21, 2011, 13:16 GMT
Madrid - Spanish giants Barcelona announced on Thursday that Brazilian defender Adriano will be out of action for around a month, after tearing the abductor muscle in his right leg in Wednesday's 1-0 cup final defeat against Real Madrid.
The injury will cause the 26 year-old left-back to miss practically all of the rest of the season.
Barca coach Pep Guardiola will now only be able to count on Maxwell in the left-back spot, because first-choice left-back Eric Abidal is out for the rest of the season after undergoing an operation to remove a liver tumour.
Barca's other injury victim is young striker Bojan Krkic.
Guardiola's team face Real again in the semi-finals of the Champions League, on April 27 and May 2.
