Real Madrid's Khedira doubtful for Champions League semi-finals
Apr 22, 2011, 8:12 GMT
Madrid - Sami Khedira of Real Madrid is doubtful for the semi-finals of the Champions League, according to media reports on Friday.
Khedira, 24, pulled a muscle in his right leg in Wednesday's cup final defeat of Barcelona, and had to be replaced in extra-time by Ezequiel Garay.
On Thursday the German World Cup midfielder travelled to Munich for treatment and is expected back in Madrid on Sunday. The extent of the injury is still not clear.
He will certainly miss Saturday's league match away to third-placed Valencia, and probably the first leg of the Campions League semi-finals at home to Barcelona on April 27.
Khedira, who joined Real from VfB Stuttgart last July, is Real's only injury victim at the moment, now that Kaka, Gonzalo Higuain, Marcelo and Karim Benzema have all recovered fitness.
