UN war crimes court dismisses Seselj's motion for acquittal
May 4, 2011, 11:30 GMT
The Hague - The International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia (ICTY) on Wednesday rejected the Serbian nationalist leader Vojislav Seselj's motion for acquittal from war crime charges related to conflicts in Croatia and Bosnia during the 1990s.
Seselj had filed the motion for acquittal after the prosecution presented its case.
He argued that no evidence was presented against him on any part of the indictment alleging his responsibility for crimes such as persecution, murder and torture of non-Serbs in Croatia and Bosnia, but the court rejected the motion.
