US director Malick wins Cannes' Palme d'Or

Cannes, France - US-born director Terrence Malick on Sunday won the Palme d'Or for best film at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, for his movie The Tree Of Life, the story of a Midwestern family in the 1950s.
A total of 20 films were vying for the Palme d'Or, one of the most prestigious awards in cinema.
