Manu, Borja and Bruno called up for Spain by Del Bosque
May 25, 2011, 12:09 GMT
Madrid - Manu del Moral, the striker recently sold by Getafe to Sevilla, was on Wednesday called up by Spain for next month's friendly internationals away to the United States and Venezuela.
While Manu, 27, was called up by national manager Vicente del Bosque, Villarreal midfielders Bruno Soriano and Borja Valero are also in the squad after being absent from recent Spain squads.
Another player recalled by Del Bosque is Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo, who narrowly missed out on going to the 2010 World Cup finals.
Carles Puyol, Cesc Fabregas and Jesus Navas are not on the list for the June 3 and 7 games because of injury. In addition, Del Bosque has decided to rest veteran Barcelona playmaker Xavi.
Youngsters Javi Martinez and Juan Mata, both of whom went to the World Cup, will play in the European Under-21 tournament instead of in the friendlies.
Del Bosque will be working hard to restore good relations between the Barcelona and Real Madrid players in his squad, after all the acrimony and controversy of their four recent Clasico clashes.
