Jun 27, 2011, 22:39 GMT
Madrid - Spanish giants Atletico Madrid announced late on Monday the signing of Portuguese international defender Silvio from Sporting Braga, for an undisclosed fee.
Silvio, 23 - whose full name is Silvio Manuel Azevedo - last season helped Braga to surprisingly reach the Europa League final, which they lost 1-0 to Porto.
He will sign a five-year contract with Atletico, and will be presented to the media on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Atletico - who finished seventh in La Liga last season - are poised to sell young goalkeeper David de Gea to Premier League champions Manchester United.
On Monday De Gea, 20, underwent medical checks in Manchester. He has just helped Spain win the European Under-21 championship played in Denmark.
