Thieves steal rhino horns from Czech castle
Jul 7, 2011, 16:56 GMT
Prague - Thieves have stolen rhino horns worth an estimated 40,000 euros (57,420 dollars) from a Czech castle, police said Thursday.
Three hunting trophies, including examples of double and single horns, dating from 1898 were taken. The head of the aristocratic house of Liechtensteiner had brought them back from hunting trips to Africa and Asia.
It was thought that the theft had taken place during one of the nightly tours of the castle.
It comes after a string of rhino horn thefts from natural history museums across Europe. The horns are prized in Asia as aphrodisiacs.
