Valencia terminate contract of unwanted Del Horno
Jul 11, 2011, 11:06 GMT
Madrid - Spanish giants Valencia confirmed on Monday the termination of the contract of former Spain left-back Asier del Horno.
Del Horno, 30, still had a year left on his Valencia contract but is now free to look for another club.
He will go down in Valencia history as one of the club's all-time poorest signings. He was an expensive purchase from Chelsea - where he failed to convince coach Jose Mourinho - but has hardly played for Los Ches, due to a string of injuries and an allegedly unprofessional lifestyle.
During his barren five-year spell at Mestalla, he was loaned out to Athletic Bilbao, his original club, then to Valladolid and Levante.
