Medical check for Berlusconi after bathroom fall
Jul 15, 2011, 15:19 GMT
Rome - Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said Friday he intends to have a medical check-up after slipping and hitting his head during a fall.
'Last night I slipped in the bathroom. There was something slimy on the floor,' the 74-year-old premier was quoted as saying by the ANSA news agency.
'I have some pain in my jaw and this evening I will return to Milan for a check-up, perhaps a scan,' Berlusconi said.
The premier made the remarks while speaking to a group of lawmakers in parliament's Chamber of Deputies shortly after a government austerity package had been approved in a confidence vote.
In March, Berlusconi underwent facial surgery to repair some of the damage suffered in 2009 when he was attacked by a man wielding a miniature statue during a political rally in Milan.
