Medvedev: Putin prize retraction was "cowardly "

Hanover - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Tuesday that it was 'cowardly' of the German organization that retracted the prize it had earmarked for Prime Minister Vladimir Putin following criticism.
Civil organizations should be free to decide who to nominate for awards, Medvedev said.
'But, if you make a decision you must stick to that decision,' he added. 'Otherwise it is cowardice and inconsistency.'
