Czech police nab bank robber - who is also a cop
Jul 21, 2011, 13:58 GMT
Prague - Czech police said Thursday they succeeded in nabbing a man suspected in a series of bank robberies, only to discover that he is a fellow-cop.
Police said an arrest warrant had been issued for the 46-year-old suspect who had robbed the equivalent of almost 50,000 euros (70,000 dollars) in four robberies.
The suspect's trademark apparently was wearing unusual outfits for the heists. In one case he showed up as a construction worker, wearing a helmet, ear protectors and a breathing mask. Another time, he was casually dressed, wearing sunglasses and a hat.
Police came across the trail of the suspect in their own ranks through an internal investigation.
