Aug 13, 2011, 10:20 GMT
Prague - Thousands gathered in the centre of Prague on Saturday for the highpoint of the Prague Pride event, the first mass gay event in the Czech Republic.
Police were out in force to protect the event, which has been sharply criticised by President Vaclav Klaus and the Catholic Church.
On Saturday, an estimated 7,000 participants were holding a parade through the centre of the city. The event began on Wednesday and is due to end on Sunday.
