Reports: Lassana Diarra to leave Real Madrid for Tottenham
Aug 20, 2011, 10:47 GMT
Madrid - Lassana Diarra is about to leave Spanish giants Real Madrid for Premier League club Tottenham, according to media reports on Saturday.
Madrid sports daily AS said on Saturday that Diarra, 26, 'is one step away from joining Tottenham,' and that the London club would pay Real around 11.5 million euros (16.5 million dollars) for the French player.
Diarra joined Real from Portsmouth in January 2009 and quickly became a fixture in midfield and at right-back. However, new coach Jose Mourinho hardly used him last season, and he is now considered surplus to requirements at the Estadio Bernabeu.
