Moscow - The Russian passenger plane that crashed with an ice hockey team aboard had struck a radio antenna shortly after take-off, state aviation officials said Wednesday.
The Yak-42 aircraft took off from an airport near the Russian city Yaroslavl but 'was unable to reach a safe altitude and struck a radio antenna beyond the runway,' an agency statement said.
