Sep 19, 2011, 13:55 GMT
Warsaw - A 41-year-old Polish man has been arrested on suspicion of raping his daughter and stepdaughter for nine years while threatening the rest of his family to keep silent, police in southern Poland said Monday.
Police said they believed the man had been raping his stepdaughter since 2002, and his daughter since 2006. Both girls were 11 years old when the crimes began, police said.
The family had stayed silent because the father had threatened to kill them if they informed police. However, th mother informed police last week of her accusations.
The man was arrested on six charges, and faces up to 12 years in prison.
