Violence sparks amid ethnic tensions in Bulgaria
Oct 3, 2011, 16:05 GMT
Sofia - Two Bulgarians were hospitalized Monday after a suspect attack by a group of Roma in a Sofia suburb, in the latest ethnic-related incident in the country, national radio reported
The incident capped 10 days of tensions involving Slavic Macedonians after a fatal traffic accident involving a prominent Roma chieftain.
The two men were reportedly beaten by a mob when they caught a teenage Roma during a burglary in a neighbour's home.
Police said one person was arrested and three others were sought in connection with the incident, but refused to divulge other details, the novinte.com news portal said.
