Oct 26, 2011, 13:27 GMT
Prague - Czech police have seized eight kilograms of high explosive along with detonators in the western city of Pilsen, a police spokesman said in Prague on Wednesday.
An undercover agent was offered 5.5 kilograms of TNT and 2.5 kilograms of the plastic explosive Semtex.
A 59-year-old Serb was arrested in connection with the find. He faces up to eight years in prison if convicted.
Police also found several hundred rounds of ammunition suitable for automatic firearms.
Semtex, invented by a Czech chemist some 50 years and difficult to detect, gained notoriety during the Cold War when it fell into the hands of terrorist groups in the West.
